The key to making this workout effective is choosing a controllable DB weight. No need to go too heavy. When you are warming up, dial in your form; if it's slop free you know you won't be wobbling around underneath a skull crusher weight. Then get it on and work on pacing the runs!
Five rounds for time of:
Turkish Get-up, 45 pound barbell, 21 reps
Run 400 meters
Here's an interesting post by Dr. Davis. He makes a good argument for sticking to more natural foods when getting rid of sugars and wheat from our diets. Great info on additives that we see in so many "healthy" processed foods nowdays.

Oh look, the Queen! Thanks for the kind comparison, Julie...That Saturday wod killed me!
As for my time in Turkey tonight, 30:24 is just too long to try and get up from the ground 105 timeswhile holding 15# overhead....strange Turks! Thanks for all the motivation 5:00 class...good job for all of us :)

Oh and Betsy... I totally thought the SAME thing when I saw the pic of you rowing! Cause we all know you weren't pulling a Weaver and talking or stalling but actually kicking some butt!! You look like Princess Kate on the rower!!

Jud... my friend...I actually think my complaining was limited this morning!! Imagine how I am when I KNOW I'm complaining!! 39 minutes for me this morning with a 15lb bar!! Any more weight and I'd still be there!!

Uhh...I could rock that Turkish get-up so much better than the ones with dumbbells. Bring it on!!! :)

Jud, if we EVER have to wear a Turkish get-up, I'm O-U-T!
But I do like the idea of using $2-Chuck just in case I drop it, I won't be crying over spilled champagne.

btw, Suzie, may I suggest a nice bottle of Charles Shaw Merlot...(very popular in the southern region of Turkey)

I really picture something more like this

when I think of a Turkish "get up".
Tough one, but good for the shoulder flex.
33:21 rx'd (though i'm not sure where the bottom of this movement is...I just couldn't bring myself to lower the bar to the ground each time)
Julie, great swimming this morning with your iPod! It just wouldn't be a workout without you complaining through it. Don't ever change, sista'!

I'll be WOD'ing from home tonight.
I've got to find a non-lethal item to use as a weight. Any suggestion? A sack of flour, a bottle of champagne, the vacuum?

Dynamic bench press

OH NO!!! This wod took Rob 48 minutes??? I better pack a meal...it's going to take me forever. Damn the Turks, can't someone teach them how to get up more simply? Duh!
And why do I look so delicate in my rowing picture above? I was DYING!!!! Maybe it was the first round.
