Don't wait too long if you're thinking about running the 5K in Seal Beach on April 21st. You're all runners now. If you just ran four with a vest on (and did a bunch of work to boot) you can sure do 3.1 with a bunch of normal schmoes. The link (for both 5k and 10K races) is here. You can do it!!
