With apologies for any hassle we're closed at the shop today for the 4th Annual Randy SImmons Memorial 5k Run (and newly added CrossFit workout). Take a well deserved two day break to work on some mobility options with K Star and get in some active recovery.
Or, if you want to hit it hard get out and run some hills. The dirt trail on Edwards (behind the dog park, Central Park)), is a good choice for some nice repeats. Pace off a 100 yard piece for a warm up, loosen up your hips and calves, then try six runs, with a one or two minute rest interval.
This weekend or during next week, please watch this video (recorded in May of this year). You will get something out of it. We can lead ourselves to the information but we cannot initiate the change for everyone. You guys have to decide when to do that. We know that of course and also that there is a distinct separation between diet and exercise when it comes to changing your body composition. This video (even though it ends a little before the presentation is complete...!) is a great start for raising awareness of your nutritional options. Low carb will change your lab results, paleo will make you perform better. Balancing them both, changing your intake behavior will improve the quality of your life.

Thanks Tom. As always we can't do any of that without help from you guys. Randy gave his life for his community. This event raises thousands of dollars for his life's efforts. It was an honor for us to be there.
And you all might have caught Blair and Tom on the NBC news working hard at the event!

Although all the regular saturday warriors could not attend a good team building Wod today, the Serrano family did a phenominal job hosting the 4th Annual Randy Simmons Memorial Run and CrossFit Challenge!!!!
The Serrano family showed up super early on their Saturday and VOLUNTEERED all their resources and equipment to the event. The event went extremely smooth. It would not have been possible without their commitment not only to this CrossFit Community but to the LEO community as well. You would have all been proud of them, I know I am!!!
